Catholic Schools Week Schedule
Sunday (1/30/22): Our students will be recognized at the 10:30 A.M. Mass at St. William Church on SSI. Two of our students wearing their Mass uniforms will be the lectors at the Mass, and all other students who attend that Mass are asked to wear their Mass uniforms as well. One of our 8th grade students will read his or her Lux Mundi essay.
Monday: Student Council members will “Celebrate the Community” by writing thank-you notes and delivering them to the police and fire stations as well as to the Mayor’s office.
Tuesday: We will “Celebrate the Students” with a free dress day and a movie in the afternoon in each classroom. Students will return to their homeroom at 1:20 to enjoy a movie. Please feel free to provide snacks for your class.
Wednesday: We will “Celebrate our Church Communities” by inviting our local pastors to come to St. Francis Xavier School for Pizza with Pastors. Invitations were sent home in the Tuesday Envelopes. All students will be treated to pizza and will have the opportunity to purchase water and chips as they do on Fridays.
Thursday: We will “Celebrate Vocations” by praying the Diocesan Prayer for Vocations and discussing vocations in religion classes. We will also participate in the Savannah Deanery Spelling Bee. Spelling Bee winners and alternates from grades 5-8 will attend the Spelling Bee at St. Peter the Apostle in Savannah. (Details to follow)
Friday: We will “Celebrate Grandparents” with a school Mass followed by some performances by students, light refreshments, a photo opportunity, visits to the classrooms and noon dismissal (EDP will be available). Electronic invitations have been sent. Please note that on Grandparents day, face masks will be required while indoors unless you are eating. We are doing this to help protect everyone, as we expect a large crowd to be with us for the celebration! Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Sunday (2/6/22): Our students will be recognized at the 11:00 A.M. Mass at St. Francis Xavier Church. Two of our students wearing their Mass uniforms will be the lectors at the Mass, and all other students who attend that Mass are asked to wear their Mass uniforms as well.
